Historic Postcards of Punxsutawney:

We have a collection of postcards of the Punxstawney area, many of which are on display at the Bennis House. The following are several examples of what we have in our collection.

  • Bandstand in Barclay Square
  • Adrian Hospital
Located at Park and Jenks Avenues. This may be incorrect. The front of the building on the postcard is an addition. The original structure can be seen by looking at a picture of the hospital.
  • Masonic Building
Once located at the corner of East Mahoning and Jefferson Streets, this building is no longer standing. Currently, the Powell ERA building is located on this site. The John W. Jenks Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons has a new building located on West Mahoning Street
  • Post Office
This unique structure at the corner of Pine and Findley Streets is now the home of the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center. The Punxsutawney Post Office is located in a new building in the East End of town.
  • YMCA Building
This beautiful building at the corner of Pine and Findley Streets has been renamed the QCB Building and houses several stores and businesses.
